One of the oldest temples of Janakpurdham is also Laxman Temple. It is located on the Northeast side corner of the Janaki temple complex. There are metal idols of Sita, Ram, Laxman, and Lava Kush. It is believed that Hanuman suggested that mahatma Mastaram return back to Janakpurdham and establish the Laxman temple which will bring harmony. After receiving this order from Hanuman, Mastram came to Janakpurdham and by the grace of Hanuman, Mastram found the idol of Laxman and started to worship. Mastram was First Mahanta of Laxman
Temple. This temple is built in Mahar style. Festivals like Vivah Panchami, Ram Navami, hula, Anukut, and Kojagrat Purnima are celebrated in this temple.
